Trevor Underwood

Our resident Professional Trevor started his professional career at Ryde Golf Club where he was Head Professional for four years before moving to East Devon Golf Club in 1986.

Trevor has enjoyed a successful playing career as both an amateur and a professional with numerous victories to his name. His dedication was rewarded in 1981 when he obtained his European Tour Card, which he retained for a couple of seasons. More recently he was a member of the prestigious Ashworth Cup Team.

Trevor achieved PGA Advanced status in 2008 for his services to the game.

With an extensive knowledge of the game, Trevor has now taken on a more senior role on the business side of the operation, as well as the day to day running of the professionals shop. Trevor is also an accomplished teacher, his simple, uncomplicated approach to teaching makes him successful with beginners, intermediate and advanced players.

Ross Troake

Ross became a member of East Devon Golf Club in 1974 and began his golfing career as an Assistant Professional here in 1979 when he gained his Professional status. He moved away to work at St Mellion Golf & Country Club in the early 1980’s at the time that Jack Nicklaus was designing and building the now world famous Nicklaus course.

Ross’s career progressed to him playing in various professional tournaments including the European Tour PGA Championships at Wentworth. During these years, he also taught at different locations including the Sands of Abu Dhabi and on the Canberra Cruise Liner.

In more recent years, Ross has focused his role on teaching players with all levels of golfing abilities with great success. He has also delivered a well supported and popular Golf Academy.

Ross returned to East Devon Golf Club in 2022 where he continues to help players improve their golfing skills.
