The V W Trophy

East Devon used to play Woodbury Park every year but this petered out after a few years. In 2005 the Captains of the Day, Mr Mike Whitehead (EDGC) and Mr Ken Vine (WPGC) met at Saunton Golf club and decided to resurrect the match, commencing in 2006, at Woodbury Park. The venue was alternated each year thereafter. The original trophy was lost but the Secretary Mr Bob Burley and Mr Whitehead found an unused and forgotten trophy with a V W (for Volkswagen) on it.
