Welcome to East Devon Golf Club

Situated on the cliff top above Budleigh Salterton, at the western end of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, the Club commands magnificent views along the coast. On a clear day, Berry Head is visible to the south west and to the east, the high point of distant Portland Bill in Dorset can be seen, over 35 miles away.

East Devon Golf Club is regarded by many as one of the finest courses in the South West and is well reviewed in the Top 100 Golf Courses of the British Isles. At 6231 yards, it is not a long course but offers a fair and interesting test of golf that requires accurate shot-making in order to score well. The fairways have been cut through a profusion of heather and gorse and, according to Peter Alliss, the 16th tee provides ‘the best view in golf’.

Golf in East Devon

Even those who have been members for more than fifty years are in awe of the continually changing colours, views that never seem the same twice and breezes than can make you think you are playing a different course every time you venture forth.

Add to that the well drained fairways, close cropped links turf, testing undulating greens and ample practice facilities, when you join or play at East Devon Golf Club, you will think you are in golfing heaven.

Famed for maintaining standards, on and off the course, the club creates a warm welcome to golfing members, social members and visitors.

Thanks to its excellent drainage the course is rarely closed due to rain, though, occasionally, a mist rolls in from the Channel, and so checking the local weather forecast is advisable, particularly if travelling any distance to play.
